SCHUYLERVILLE - A charity basketball game between New York State Police and Schuylerville Central School District staff will be held Thursday to raise money for hurricane relief and Rebuilding Together Saratoga County.
"This is a win-win situation," said Denise Zdobnikow, an organizer for the charity event. "There's everything to gain and nothing to lose. It's a great cause."
The event will be held at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. The tickets are $7 in advance for adults or $8 at the door; $4 in advance for children under 12 and senior citizens or $5 at the door.
The charity event is sponsored by Parents as Education Partners, Schuylerville Central School District's parent volunteer group.
All money raised will benefit an elementary school affected by Hurricane Katrina and Rebuilding Together Saratoga County, a nonprofit organization that rehabs local homes owned by low-income, elderly or disabled people.
The charity event will also raffle off seven gift baskets that were donated by area businesses.
The seven raffle baskets have themes: Pamper Me; Downtown Saratoga; A Day in Schuylerville; Celebrating New Year in Style; RPI Hockey; Arts package; and Think Camping, Think Next Spring.
