Oprah and Scrooge Interview

by Shane Daniel Larkin

Oprah : We have a special guest for you today, Scrooge!

            (Scrooge walks in)

Crowd: Boo

Scrooge: Oprah , how are you doing? Looking fine as usual. Oprah : Why, thank you Scrooge, I am doing fine. Why don’t you take a seat? Today’s topic is on people who have changed their life dramatically.

Oprah: So, Scrooge, you used to be a very mean, nasty person?

Scrooge: I am sorry to say yes, I was. I used to never get into the Christmas spirit, yell at lots of people, not give to charities, not give my workers day off, things like that. I was however, making a lot of money.

Oprah: Is that all you cared about?

Scrooge: Yes, but I was a very unhappy person as I can see now.

Oprah : So Scrooge, tell us about these three Christmas ghosts that came to see you.

Scrooge: Actually there were four ghosts. The first one was a ghost of my

dead business partner, Marley. He told me what was going to happen. The

next ghost that came, Spirit of Christmas Past, showed me choices that I had

made in the past that had had an impact on my life. For example, when I did

not marry this woman just because she did not have enough money. The next

spirit, Spirit of Christmas Present, showed me things that I had an impact on

that day. Like how I had not paid my nephew Bob Chrachit enough money

so his son, Tiny Tim, almost died. The final Spirit, the Spirit of Christmas yet

to come, showed me things that could happen. Like how if I died the people

who worked for me would not care, they would just want my valuable possessions.

Oprah : How did these ghosts change your life?

Scrooge: Well, they showed me I had made decisions that had effects on my whole life. Also, if I did not change the way I lived my life all I would be remembered for would be my cruelty and greediness. I had made bad decisions, but if I changed I could live a better life.

Oprah : So, how do you live your life now?

Scrooge: Well, I helped out Tiny Tim and his whole family medically and financially. Also, I gave them lots of presents. I now give lots of my money away to charities and to poor people. I also am nicer to my employees and treat them a lot better in several aspects.

Oprah : Well thank you Scrooge for sharing your story with us today.

Scrooge: My pleasure, Oprah . Merry Christmas, everyone!
