A Highlight of 2004Our favorite weekend trip was a stay at the historic Fred Harvey hotel, La Pasada, in Winslow, AZ. Built in 1928 as a magnificent hacienda, it now is only partially restored after being closed to the public for 40 years. It feels like you're entering another era when you walk thru the front door. |

| I don't think the owners have been able to get back very much of the original furnishings that were bought that day. I'm a
big fan of Mary Jane Culture.
The place is definitely a work in progress as is most of the old Rt.66 Winslow. |

Of the couple who now own it, the woman is an artist and her paintings adorn the walls throughout the hotel - an interesting mix with the
old furniture and decorations.
They want the place to be a combination art gallery and hotel. I wouldn't quite call it elegant yet, but maybe a rustic charm. |
| The restaurant is excellent. At dinner, Marianna thought she recognized our waitress. Turns out she had recently moved to Winslow from Prescott because Prescott was getting too big! | ![]() |
