My Wedding

As you can see I was a child bride. Actually, I had just turned 21, Jim was 22. We had a small wedding. Unlike my sister, I couldn't picture myself in this big, puffy dress in front of 200 strangers.

Jim and I had just immediately family at the church - parents, brothers and sisters and their spouses and nieces and nephews. We had about 80 people at an outdoor reception at Jim's Aunt's historic farmhouse in Foster. We had it catered under large canopy tents. The weather was perfect and sunny.

After we all ate and got the more formal stuff over with, people relaxed. The guests either played cards, volleyball, rode horses or just kicked back and enjoyed the house and property. Jim's Aunt and Uncle have completely restored the home and furnished it with period antiques. T

hey are the first people outside of my Mother's family to own the property so it was neat for my Mothers side of the family to be able to see and walk through the house that their ancestors grew up in. Anyway, it was very casual and fun. Nothing fussy at my wedding. Probably not what most girls would want but it worked for us.

Jim and I were married on Sept. 9, 1990 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. This is a very tiny, one room church that the kids and I still go to and the church that Jim was dragged to every Sunday growing up. Rick's father Pastor Val Andresen married us.

Lori was matron of honor and Jim's brother Jon was best man. That's it for the wedding party. It was very nice and small. It fit both me and Jim's and my parents budget.

We went to Arizona for our Honeymoon. Ron paid for our hotel room, in an authentic haunted hotel in Prescott, as his wedding gift to us.
