Hello.

I am very excited to come across your posting. I have been searching for my grandfather Charles Joseph Larkin for over a year now. This is what I know about him. Hopefully we can make a connection.

My grandfather Charles Larkin was the son of Michael and Catherine McGee Larkin. Born in Glasgow, Scotland in June of 1896. I know he met my grandmother in Belfast in 1920. Her name was Cecelia Cafferty of Leitrim. Her family has told me that while he was living in Belfast he was working as a painter/artist. They came together to NY on Feb 18, 1921. They lived in Boston where they had two sons. Cecelia was very ill with TB and moved in with her sister in Providence, RI where she died in 1928.

The two boys lived at St. Vincent's Infant Asylum during her illness and became wards of the state of RI upon her death. I have no info on her husband Charles after her death. Charles would have been only 32 years old at that time. Could we be talking about the same Charles Joseph Larkin?

I am very anxious to hear back from you. Any info would be appreciated. My father, who's now 75, has always wondered why his father walked away from him and his brother. Hope to hear from you.
