Hi Family,
I was going to tell you about my day and how sanctimonious I am feeling about seeing the task through to completion. My lawn badly needed to be mowed and even tho the heat index was around 100 degrees, tomorrow's forcast is no better, nor is Saturday's so I decided to take the punishment today.
I was going to tell you that I rarely do the trim on the day of mowing because there is so much of it and it takes another 2-3 hours to complete, but not wanting to have to go out again tomorrow, I hauled
out the trimmer and set forth to complete the job.
I was going to tell you about the hundreds of lightening bugs that emerged as soon as I finally finished and how beautifully they decorated the freshly cut lawn. They were begging for some children to come along with their Ball canning jars to capture them and delight in the phosphorus glow of their underwings.
I was going to tell you how absolutely peaceful it was watching this as the breeze gently kept the mosquitoes at bay. But I'm not going
to tell you those things after all.
Instead, I'm going to tell you that I have a new computer!
How did she do that, you ask yourselves quietly; the woman can barely computer, never mind go out and buy one?
The answer is that I didn't go out and buy one. My big brother did all the work including arranging for a technician to come out here, set it up, and migrate all the information from the old pc to the new one.
Not knowing that my ISP, Juno, wouldn't transfer I had no CD on hand to install on the new pc and consequently no way to send and receive email (who, in the country, can live without email access?)
Wanna know what happened?
Uncle Brian downloaded to a disc a copy of the Juno program from his PC and sent the CD to me via overnight FedEx.
Now Family, if you haven't figured this out and if you haven't yet done it, you need to get yourself a big brother like mine. If I whine a little bit, Uncle Brian fixes the problem. If I whimper two or three times, he fixes the
problem.
So I'm not going to tell you how good it feels to get the yard work done today despite the heat.
Instead, I'm going to tell you what a terrific brother I have .. just in case you hadn't already figured that out for yourselves.
And so, goodnight.
Love you,
Aunt Maureen
