Christmas with the Carpenters
2007
This was the first year that Everett and I took
the kids to a tree farm to choose a tree. Usually we get one from
a store.
This year, though, we all trooped out to the
farm the day after Thanksgiving to choose the perfect one.
Dria spotted it first. We used a hand saw to cut
it down, which turned into a family event of comic
description.
Poor Everett was sooo sick that day, but my days
home are limited so we had to go while the opportunity was
available. He was a trooper.
Alex was determined to cut the tree down himself,
so he manned one side of the saw and Dria the other. I held the
branches, Everett took the pictures (and laughed) and Katie
cheered us all on.
It was a nice day.
